While each project is unique, over the years, I've refined my process to ensure I get an effective outcome each time in a reasonable amount of time.

My creative process 🔮

I'd like to have a brief conversation with you before we make it official. We will discuss project details, budget, and timelines. I'll send you a summary and quote for your approval. After you sign up, we will start working. My first step will be to create a brief for the project so that I can understand your business.

For clients/stakeholders

Phase 1

Discovery

Phase 2

Design

Phase 3

Launch

Using the information you provide in the brief, I’ll explore many different ideas. I'll study your customers' needs, analyze your market, and do a competitive analysis to create the most effective design solutions for your business. I will make sure the design works well in today's ever-changing market.

When your brand identity is created, we will prepare it for the world. To ensure consistency in the future, we'll organize the brand's components. Project deliverables in this phase vary greatly depending on the project. However, they often include web design, packaging design, art direction, social media, marketing templates, etc.

I'll begin by diving into the brief to discover what makes your brand unique. I'll pick out suitable keywords that capture the brand's vibe. Then, I'll make a word map to find synonyms that complement these keywords.

Step 1

Word mapping/Semantic tree

Step 2

Mood board creation

Based on the word map, I'll create at least two mood boards that visually represent your brand. Mood boards will help establish your brand's visual direction. We can create a cohesive look and feel that accurately represents the brand.

Step 3

Ideation

Now, it's time to bring those exciting logo ideas to life! My goal is to sketch out some rough logo designs without worrying about being precise. My goal is to explore as many different directions as I can while keeping the visual direction we set up during the mood board in mind before selecting 5-6 concepts to refine.

I'll work on these ideas on paper first because I feel more creative and less restricted than when working on a computer.

Once I've chosen 1-2 best ideas, I'll turn them into scalable graphics on my computer. Once I have a direction that I like, I will add type and colors to make it pop! I'll then show it to you and get your feedback. My usual approach is to give you the two most desirable options because this allows us to stick to the direction we have established and is easier to decide.

Step 4

Feedback

Step 5

Visual direction

When I receive your feedback, if necessary, I will refine the design further. Once we have finalized the logo, we can get to the fun part - developing a complete brand identity! This means we'll pick colors, fonts, images, and graphical elements that represent the brand, and apply them to things like the business card, marketing materials, and website.

Together, we'll ensure that the brand identity is consistent across all touchpoints and can be easily expanded as the brand grows. We want everything to be a true representation of our brand.

Step 6

Preparing brand guidelines

And finally, creating the brand guidelines and deliverables. Basically, I'll make documents that outline how the brand should be represented across various touchpoints in the real world. This can include guidelines for using the logo, typography, color palette, imagery, messaging, and other visual or verbal elements that make up the brand.

The guidelines ensure that everyone working on the brand knows how to use its elements properly. It's critical for creating a website and an app because it keeps everything consistent and accurately represents the brand.

Being a self-taught designer, my initial focus was understanding what makes good & bad design. I learned this by observing some of the finest designers worldwide, such as Sagi Haviv, Michael Johnson, and Zimri Mayfield- whose process of designing logos I admire, and I still watch his old YouTube videos. Additionally, I keep myself updated by following top studios such as DesignStudio, Wolff Olins, & Koto. All of them have the same thing in common: they provide simple and scalable designs.

Now that you know about my creative process, let me tell you where my inspirations come from. I think knowing my influences can help you understand my design style and the factors that motivate me.

Music

Pinterest

This must be the most obvious place where I find inspiration. But I prioritize regularly exposing myself to a variety of colors, shapes, and design types to develop my visual library. That's why I spend 1-2 hours daily on Pinterest, specifically looking at illustrations, ads, and digital banner presentation decks. Pinterest makes it easy to find similar designs based on the boards you create. Observing and learning from the diverse designs I see on Pinterest every day has improved my layout skills and type choices.

I have a deep love for music, with a particular fondness for genres like electropop, and indie rock. I have deep admiration for artists such as Twenty One Pilots, Daft Punk, Gorillaz, The Weeknd, and Coldplay. I am drawn to how they convey their messages through creative music videos, where the representation is not always apparent, but the audience can still understand the message. In my opinion, design solutions should also follow the same approach, where the outcome is not necessarily obvious, but the feeling it evokes is impactful.
